If you went through the steps in the preceding sections, your Facebook timeline is pretty much set up except for a little tweaking. From here, you can do the following:
- Pin content. Make certain posts or images sticky, meaning they’ll stay in the same location until you unpin them. Pinning content is a good way to highlight sales events, announcements, and promotional campaigns. Note that Facebook allows you to pin only one item at a time.To pin a post: After you post an update, select the three dots located at the upper right side of the published post. From the drop-down menu, select Pin to Top of Page.
- Share your brand’s story. Because Facebook’s timeline allows you to upload content in chronological order, you can now go back to the day your brand launched, even if it was 100 years ago. Scan old newspaper articles, advertisements, photos, and more. Give your community a transparent look into your brand’s past.
- Explore tabs. Make your brand’s page even more interactive with tabs that allow you to post testimonials from customers, list any promotion you’re running, share information about upcoming events, and so much more.
Don’t go overboard with the bells and whistles. When you have too many items added to your timeline, your brand’s account becomes too cluttered and confusing. Take the time to research the best tabs for your community, and use them in a way that doesn’t assault the senses.
