Some of the terms used in AC terminology have definite relations among themselves as given below:
- Relation between frequency and time period: Consider an alternating quantity having a frequency of f c/s. Then, time taken to complete f cycle = 1 sTime taken to complete 1 cycle = 1/f sHence, time period, T= 1/f s f = 1/T c/s
- Relation between frequency and angular velocity: Consider an alternating quantity having a frequency of f c/s.Angular distance covered in one cycle = 2π radian∴ Angular distance covered per second in f cycles = 2π radianHence, ω = 2 πf radian/s
