It has been observed that every matter is electrical in nature, since it contains charged particles such as protons and electrons. Therefore, the following points are observed:
- A body is neutral as it contains same number of protons and electrons.
- If some of the electrons are removed from the body,1 then a deficit of electrons occurs, and the body attains a positive charge.
- If some of the electrons are supplied to the body, then the number of electrons will be more, and the body attains a negative charge.
