Fundamental Concepts in Physics

Some of the core concepts that form the foundation of physics include:

  • Matter: Anything that has mass and takes up space. Everything around us is made of matter.
  • Energy: The ability to do work. It can take different forms like kinetic energy (energy of motion), potential energy (stored energy), thermal energy, etc.
  • Force: A push or pull that causes objects to move or change their state. Forces cause changes in motion, according to Newton’s laws.
  • Motion: The change in position of an object over time. Described by parameters like speed, velocity, and acceleration.
  • Time: A continuous progression of events from past to future, essential for understanding motion and change.
  • Space: The vast three-dimensional expanse in which all matter exists, and where objects move and interact.
