The International System of Units (SI) is the modern form of the metric system and is the most widely used system of measurement worldwide. The system is based on a set of base units from which other units are derived.
Seven Base SI Units:
- Meter (m) for length
- Kilogram (kg) for mass
- Second (s) for time
- Ampere (A) for electric current
- Kelvin (K) for temperature
- Mole (mol) for the amount of substance
- Candela (cd) for luminous intensity
Other units like joules, newtons, watts, and pascals are derived from these base units
