The division of the cytoplasm is called\u00a0cytokinesis. This occurs during\u00a0meiosis\u00a0or\u00a0mitosis\u00a0of the cell. The ending result is usually two (2) new daughter cells (mitosis) or four (4) new gametes or sex cells (meiosis).
