The flux produced by the poles depends upon the field current with in the unsaturated region of magnetic material of the poles (i.e.,\u00a0<em>\u0278<\/em>\u00a0\u221d\u00a0<em>I<\/em><sub>f<\/sub>), but in the saturated region, the flux remains constant.
