In fact, with your timeline, you can go back in time to your brand\u2019s beginning and share milestones, articles, photographs, videos, and more \u2014 all in chronological order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"c29-para-0023\">Some interesting features of the timeline include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"c29-list-0004\">\n<li><strong>Private messaging:<\/strong>&nbsp;Allows your community to reach out and ask questions privately and then receive a personal response in return. Please note that some brands turn off the messaging feature because they\u2019d rather not receive private messages. You can turn off the private messaging feature, but you\u2019ll miss valuable community feedback because not everyone wants to publicly post to your wall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Notifications:<\/strong>\u00a0A number in the Admin panel on the left side of the page, shown in\u00a0Figure 1-4, shows all your new notifications so that you can welcome new members by name, see who\u2019s messaging you, know who\u2019s posting to your timeline, and find out who\u2019s talking about you on their own timelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The capability to pin key events and photos:<\/strong>&nbsp;You can make certain content \u201csticky\u201d to highlight key dates, milestones, and events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h3-1\">Adding a profile picture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"c29-para-0024\">To set up your timeline, the first step is to upload a profile picture. Your profile picture is the small photo on the left, usually a brand logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/learning.oreilly.com\/api\/v2\/epubs\/urn:orm:book:9781119931959\/files\/images\/9781119931959-fg070104.png\" alt=\"Snapshot of the number next to Notifications signifies new interactions and updates.\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"c29-para-0025\">To upload your profile photo, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"c29-list-0005\">\n<li><strong>Hover your cursor on the profile image area and click the camera icon.<\/strong>A pop-up window appears, enabling you to choose to view a photo or edit a profile picture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Choose the Edit Profile Picture option and then click Upload Photo.<\/strong>If this is the first time you\u2019re adding a profile image, you\u2019ll see the placeholder image that\u2019s the first letter of your page\u2019s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assuming that you\u2019re going to upload your brand\u2019s logo, choose the file you want to upload from the File Upload window that appears.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>In Edit Profile, add a description of the photo and resize the photo (if needed) using the slider.<\/strong>The description will show up next to the photo if someone clicks your logo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Click Save to edit your profile photo.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Setting up your timeline is simple and can take as little or as much time as you want, depending on how many bells and whistles you add to your profile.
