The following factors are to be considered while designing plumbing services to buildings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. All foul and waste matter should be removed as quickly as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. All possible passage of gases, odour or vermin from pipes and sewers into the building should be prevented.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. All drainage pipes should be airtight, gas-tight and strong enough and durable to withstand the corrosive action of liquid wastes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. All pipe joints (both water supply and drainage) should be leak-proof and strong and durable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. The entire network of pipes should have ample means of cleaning and removing obstructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
